Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Freak Circus Guide handles analytics, cookies, advertising, fan-site boundaries, and contact messages.

1. Who we are

The Freak Circus Guide is an independent, unofficial fan-made guide website for players of The Freak Circus. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the official The Freak Circus development team.

The playable game experience linked or embedded on this site is provided through official itch.io sources. We do not host, reupload, redistribute, or modify the game files.

2. Information we collect

We do not ask visitors to create an account, submit payment information, or provide sensitive personal data to read our guides.

If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address and the message content you choose to send. We use that information only to respond to your request, handle corrections, or process site-related feedback.

If you voluntarily submit private feedback after using an interactive tool, we store the feedback text together with the tool name, local page path, and a non-personal result reference. The feedback is used to improve the tool and is not published on the site.

3. Analytics and cookies

We use analytics tools to understand page views, navigation patterns, and general site performance. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies depending on the provider and visitor browser settings.

Current analytics may include privacy-focused traffic measurement and Google Analytics-style reporting where enabled. We use these reports to improve navigation, content quality, and technical reliability rather than to identify individual players.

Analytics page-view reporting uses the page path without URL query strings or fragments. This reduces the risk that information entered into a URL is sent as analytics page-location data.

We do not use analytics to collect raw walkthrough answers, private messages, payment data, or sensitive personal information.

4. Advertising

The site uses Google AdSense only on selected, reviewed content pages. Policy, contact, embedded play, download, test, thin-content, and sensitive-story pages do not load the AdSense integration.

Where consent is required for Google advertising, Google's certified consent platform provides Accept, Reject, and Manage options. Google advertising cookies and personalized ads depend on the choice recorded through that message; rejecting or closing a non-consent path is not treated as consent.

You can learn how Google uses data from partner sites at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad settings through your Google account or browser privacy controls.

Ad placement, if enabled, is separate from editorial decisions. We do not let advertising change the fan-made status, official-source boundary, or correction process for guide content.

5. Third-party links and embedded content

This site links to official itch.io pages, community resources, search engines, analytics providers, and other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies, not by this site.

When you open an external link or interact with embedded third-party content, the third party may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and referring page.

6. Fan content and intellectual property boundary

The Freak Circus names, characters, art, story, and game materials belong to their respective rights holders. This site provides independent commentary, walkthrough notes, summaries, and player-help content for informational purposes.

If you are a rights holder and believe something should be corrected or removed, contact us and we will review the request in good faith.

7. Data retention

Email messages, private tool feedback, and site-operation records may be retained only as long as reasonably needed for support, product improvement, security, legal compliance, and site maintenance.

Aggregated analytics reports may be kept for trend analysis, but we do not use them to identify individual players.

8. Your choices

You can disable cookies in your browser, use privacy extensions, or avoid third-party embedded content if you do not want those technologies to run.

You may contact us to request correction or deletion of personal information or private tool feedback you previously sent to us, subject to reasonable verification and legal requirements.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when site features, analytics, advertising, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.

10. Contact

For privacy questions, corrections, or rights-holder requests, contact us through the Contact page or by email at ThessalonikiaXtapodaki602@gmail.com.
